Tip 1: Change Your Meal Priorities

We hold certain biases when it comes to our food. In most cases, protein is the priority, and a juicy steak, a piece of grilled chicken, or a pork cutlet often act as the centerpieces of our plates. While protein is good, many of these centerpiece food items are packed with calories and fat that don’t do much for our weight loss efforts.

A good diet strategy is to rethink your priorities and rearrange your plates. Make vegetables or healthy salads the centerpieces of your meals, and put that steak on the side of your plate. By making veggies your focus, you will consume fewer calories but still, get enough protein to power your system.

Tip 2: Track Your Progress!

People fall into one of two camps. There are those who count the days of their diets and those who forget about time entirely and get into a dietary routine. While neither approach is wrong, both tend to miss one vital motivational strategy – taking pictures.

Before you know it, you could be two or three months into your weight loss journey. You may step on the scale and see that the number has shifted in your favor. However, when you look in the mirror, you may see the same reflection you did before. Our minds and eyes play tricks on us, so taking before and after pictures can give us a clear perspective on our progress. This aids in motivation and can help keep us on a healthy track.

Tip 3: Order Off the Kids Menu

Takeout meals have grown in portion. In most cases, a standard burger and fries combo from a drive-thru can amount to 1,000 calories (excluding the drink). That’s a lot of calories in a single meal! To put things in perspective, 2,000 – 2,500 calories per day are all that’s needed for healthy function. The funny thing is that most of these calories come from preservatives and sauces that don’t add much value to our meals.

If you must order from a drive-thru, ordering from the kid’s menu may help keep things in check. A children’s meal holds 400-500 calories and can help satisfy your body without overloading it with processed fats and sugars. The added benefit is that kid’s menu meals are often cheaper!

Tip 4: Order Online to Maintain Your Diet

It’s hardly a secret by now – grocery stores strategically arrange their goods. It’s no coincidence that cereal isn’t far from the milk aisle, and the chips are often neighbors with the sugary sweets. Things are places specifically to help you give into temptation and buy more than you initially intended to.

Online shopping can alleviate some temptation and help you make smarter choices. When you open a browser menu, chances are you know exactly what you’re looking for, and you likely won’t be swayed by idle pictures of suggested purchases. But, if temptation does rear its ugly head, you can shop organic online too!

Diet and exercise are great first steps toward a healthier you! But, if you’re having a hard time shedding stubborn fat, SculpSure® may be an excellent option. This non-invasive treatment targets fat areas and eliminates them from your body without surgery and with little to no downtime!
