It’s always been tough to stay in shape – but things have gotten especially harder these days. Temptation is all around us, and holding on to that six-pack seems nearly impossible now. Fortunately, some resources can help you stay fit, and they’re available here at Vita Aesthetics & Wellness.
Our Whittier office is a proud provider of SculpSure® – a safe, non-invasive body contouring solution that can optimize your efforts to stay lean, fit, and muscular. That said, getting the most out of this treatment involves practicing healthy lifestyle habits. Below are some recommendations that can help keep you fit and help you get the most out of your SculpSure® session.
Maintain a Solid Workout Routine
People who begin their workout journeys often don’t see the results they expect. Typically, the reason for that is not working out enough and/or working out incorrectly. If your goal is to lose weight and build muscle, chances are that you won’t see much progress by only working out 1-2 times per week. Similarly, if you work out seven days per week but only for 20 minutes each day (just enough to feel winded) – you won’t see much improvement either.
Creating an optimal workout routine can be tough alone. In most cases, an experienced personal trainer can set you up on the right path. However, if you can’t afford one-on-one coaching, you can at least set up a reasonably solid routine yourself. Generally, exercising 3-4 times per week and pushing your body aerobically can help you lose fat, whereas pushing it anaerobically can help you build muscle.
Eat the Right Foods to Stay In Shape
What you eat and how much of it you eat matters. When trying to stay in shape, it’s generally good practice to stay away from sweets like candy. Instead, you should rely on fruits and vegetables for your sugar intake.
Along with this, a diet of protein-rich foods like turkey, chicken, and seafood can help you feel fuller while taking in fewer calories. Spacing these meals out and eating six in smaller portions can help keep your metabolism in check. These practices can go a long way in helping you shed pounds, build muscle, and get lean.
Keep Track of Your Intake
Speaking of food, calories can be hard to keep track of. Often, we tend to overeat without even realizing it. That package of ramen noodles likely contains 400 calories – that’s more than two 4oz chicken breasts! To make matters worse, those noodles are unlikely to keep you feeling full for very long due to their lack of nutritional value.
That’s why keeping track of your meals and being mindful of what you eat go hand-in-hand. There are many apps available that can help you log those numbers and keep yourself on track. If all else fails, you can use a pen and paper too!
Sleep Is a Big Contributor to Body Shape!
In this day and age, productivity is valued so much more than sleep. Sleeping in often makes us feel guilty – like we’ve wasted valuable time. However, getting enough sleep is actually essential to keeping your body in peak physical condition.
6-8 hours of sleep will keep the body going throughout the day, but if you happen to feel tired at any point after coming home from work, a short nap can do wonders. These moments of rest can help your body heal – a crucial process if you’re working out regularly.
